Offering Legal Resources to Businesses and Families
August 7 through August 9, 2003

afhe will be sponsoring a meeting in Beaver Creek, Colorado (near Vail about two hours west of Denver) on Offering Legal Resources to Businesses and Families.

The purpose of the meeting will be to study the experiences of our members in meeting the needs of businesses and families for legal information and services and to project what this experience means for the future conduct of advisory lawyers. The dialogue will involve how lawyers may act as consultants. Gerald Le Van and Glenn Ayres have indicated that they will attend. As most of you know, these two lawyers are seminal thinkers and actors in structuring innovative ways to advise businesses and families.

Attendance is open to all afhe members. I ask that you email me if you wish to attend, and I will provide you with further details of the meeting. Those who attend need not be experienced in nontraditional methods of offering legal resources, but should be very interested in future activity based on the experience of those lawyers who have experimented with alternative methods of offering legal resources. All who attend will be asked to provide a personal history and statement of interest. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns.

The schedule will be:

Thursday, August 7 - arrive in Beaver Creek in time for early evening cocktails and dinner.

Friday, August 8 - meeting all day with a group dinner in the evening.

Saturday, August 9 - Meeting to review the previous day's discussions and adjourn by 11:00 am.

We are trying to structure the meeting and room charges so that the cost of the meeting fee (including lunch on Friday and dinners Thursday and Friday evening) and room charge will be under $1,000 for the term of the meeting (including a Saturday night stay). The travel arrangements would be to fly to DIA (the Denver airport) and rent a car for the drive to Beaver Creek (about two hours).

We look forward to hearing from afhe members wishing to attend this meeting prior to June 13, 2003. After that date, we may not be able to accommodate additional registrations.
